Mrs. Harry Eaton (left) of the Eagles Auxiliary was hostess for the day at the annual Friendship Bazaar in the Eagles’ hall Saturday. Mrs. Elaine Dobbyn (centre), North Cowichan councillor, officially opened the event. Here they are seen watching Mrs. Sylvestre Modeste spin raw wool for Cowichan sweaters at a gaily carved machine. The carvings are the work of Chris Alphonse of the Cowichan band. Mrs. G. MacDonald was chairman of the bazaar committee. Eight organizations will share in the $750 net proceeds.
