Reeve Don Morton presented a quote a “tomahawk” to chief Dennis Alphonse during the ceremonies Sunday afternoon at the Cowichan Band’s new administration office on Allenby Rd. Chief Alphonse said he was certain the North Cowichan reeve had the best interests of the Indian Council in mind when he presented the gavel and stand for the chief to keep order at council meetings.
