I’m Sti’tum’atulwut, Ruby Peter. - ’i tsun le’lum’ut tthu shxaatth’ustun, tthu skweyuls ’i’ 1913 ni’ ’utl’ kwa’mutsun, thi lelum’.
I’m looking at a picture, dated 1913, at Quamichan Longhouse. - ’i’ nilh tthu pulhe’ch ’utl’ shlamus.
And this is the potlatch of Shlamus (Joe Jim). - ’e’ut ’i tthu huy’shun.
And there is a platform. - huy’shun swuwqw’a’lh tthu sts’uts’e’.
On the platform, there were mountain goat wool blankets. - st’ut’in’ tthu swuwqw’a’lh, sts’uts’e’ ’u tthu huy’shun.
The blankets are lined up on top of the platform. [Note: sum’qw’a’yi’us “piled up”] - shxaatth’ustun [’i’] stl’ul’iqulh tthu neetum.
It’s a memorial and those children must be getting named. - m’i tsumstum tthu q’xuw’lh hakwushum ’u tthu shxaatth’ustun.
They brought the voyager up from the river, and used it for the memorial (to hold the picture). - ’i’ m’i tl’uw’ tsumstum tthu snuhwulh, ’i’ ni’ tl’uw’ hakwushum.
Also the river canoe was brought up and used. - nuheylhum tthu shlamus ’u tthu me’mun’us suw’ lumstunuq ’u tthu shxaatth’ustun.
