Miss Joan Thomas, Westholme, taught by her mother, Julia, has learned the art of making Cowichan sweaters, from raw wool to completed garment. Mother and daughter demonstrated their skills at Cowichan Exhibition’s attractive display of native crafts. Joan is seen removing wool from the carder. It was “teased” by a younger sister and will go to her mother to be spun into knitting yarn.
